NoVacancy 2025: AI That’s Transforming Hospitality

Myma

Myma AI, cocktails, and conversations that mattered

This time last week, the Myma.ai team left Sydney a little weary but buzzing with excitement after an incredible two days at No Vacancy. There’s nothing quite like immersing yourself in the energy of the industry, catching up with familiar faces, and forging new connections that remind us why we do what we do. (Though yes, someone on the team may have mumbled something about being too old for this… we won't name names!)

AI Is No Longer a Nice-to-Have

One thing was crystal clear across the board: AI is no longer sitting on the sidelines. More and more hotels are waking up to the fact that AI isn’t just a tech buzzword—it’s a practical, powerful tool that’s already transforming operations, saving teams hours of admin time, and elevating guest experiences.

From the booth to the stage, the appetite to understand AI's real-world impact was strong.

Real Stories. Real Results.

Our co-founders, David Thompson and Andy Dharmani, took the spotlight to share two real-life case studies of properties using Myma AI technology—and the results are hard to ignore.

✨ Streamlined guest communications

✨ 24/7 support without additional staffing

✨ Tangible time and cost savings

It was one of those “we told you so” moments—proof that AI isn’t just future-facing; it’s delivering right now.

The AI Email Assistant Moment 😇

If there was a standout “aha” moment for me, it came when I introduced our brand-new AI Email Assistant. Watching hoteliers realize that every guest message—from email to Facebook Messenger to WhatsApp—can be answered automatically (and correctly!) felt like witnessing a lightbulb moment. I swear I heard angels sing for some visitors!

Thought Leadership With a View

We were also proud to host our private Icons of Industry function on Tuesday evening. It sparked some excellent conversation and thoughtful debate, especially around the question: How do we ensure AI remains accurate, especially when used by staff who lack deep hospitality experience?

Leadership

A great point—and one we’re actively working to solve through our training, tools, and ongoing development of smarter, context-aware AI.

Cheers to the Future

Of course, no industry event is complete without a rooftop cocktail or two. Huge thanks to Room Price Genie for the invite to the Glenmore rooftop—an epic view, even better company.

Final Thoughts

Final Thoughts

We came away from No Vacancy with full notebooks, full inboxes, and full hearts: so many inspiring conversations, brilliant ideas, and exciting leads to follow up. If we didn’t get a chance to chat, or if you’d like to learn more about what Myma AI can do for your hotel, we’re just a message away.

And yes—this photo perfectly sums up how I felt at the end. All in, and wouldn’t change a thing.
